Inclusive Input Financing for Rural Growth

Catalyzing Agricultural Transformation Through Equity, Access & Support

Farm Forward is a transformative agricultural initiative designed to equip youth, women, and underserved communities with the tools, knowledge, and input financing required to farm successfully and sustainably. The program focuses on unlocking access to certified seeds, high-yielding fertilizers, agronomic training, and follow-up support for smallholder farmers in the Upper West Region of Ghana.

By removing traditional barriers to entry, this project fosters inclusive participation in agriculture and drives rural economic development from the ground up.

Objectives

  • Provide input financing and farm supplies to smallholder farmers
  • Promote the adoption of modern, sustainable farming practices
  • Improve agricultural yields and household income
  • Encourage youth and women participation in commercial farming
  • Strengthen food security and reduce dependency on food imports

Target Beneficiaries

  • Smallholder farmers in rural and deprived communities
  • Over 5,000 youth and women in the Upper West Region
  • First-time farmers seeking access to land, resources, and market support

Project Activities

  • Distribution of certified inputs: improved seeds, fertilizers, and tools
  • Training on Good Agronomic Practices (GAPs) and resource management
  • Regular monitoring and on-site support by extension officers
  • Linking farmers to market access and agri-commodity buyers
  • Promoting sustainable land use and climate-resilient practices
